School Uniform

UNIFORM

Students at Nhill College are required to wear a uniform as specified by the College Council.   The wearing of a uniform aims to:

• Promote a sense of individual and collective pride in students, and their identification with the College

• Minimise social and economic distinctions by ensuring that all students wear the specified uniform

• Remove forms of peer pressure to conform with fashion trends

College uniform must be worn to and from school and at all College functions/ excursions unless parents have been expressly notified otherwise.  Students out of College uniform for any reason must bring a signed and dated written explanation from a parent. (This note must be submitted to the appropriate Year Level Co-ordinator before school).

COMPULSORY UNIFORM ITEMS:

SUMMER UNIFORM

• Navy shorts or pants

• College checked Summer dress

• Navy skirt as per College Uniform Store

• Blue polo shirt with College logo

• Navy track-suit top with College logo

• College rugby top with College logo/navy woollen jumper with College logo

• Black shoes

• All students are to wear a broad brimmed or bucket hat in Terms 1 & 4 and on days when the UV Rating is at or above 3.

WINTER UNIFORM

• Navy shorts or pants

• Navy micro-fibre track pant

• College checked navy skirt with navy tights

• Blue polo shirt with College logo

• Navy track-suit top with College logo

• College rugby top with College logo/navy woollen jumper with College logo

• Black shoes 

OPTIONAL ITEMS:

• Navy Jacket with College logo

• Navy coat – orders taken at Cambrelle’s

• Navy Woollen Jumper with College logo

• Tie – as per College Uniform Store

• College Navy scarf – as per College Uniform Store.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

• All students are to wear a broad brimmed hat in Terms 1 & 4 and on days when the UV Rating is at or above 3.

• Year 12 students may wear the Year 12 jumper as approved by College Council.

• Year 6 students may wear the Year 6 polo shirt.

• Coloured nail polish, jewellery and make-up should not be worn to school.

• Sleepers and studs are the only earrings deemed appropriate for school. Facial piercings must be covered at all times.

• Short sports shorts are NOT considered to be acceptable to wear as uniform items.
